Leichty Elected Goshen’s First Female Mayor
News Release
GOSHEN — Outgoing Mayor Jeremy Stutsman presented the Oath of Office to incoming Mayor Gina Leichty to a full room at the Goshen City Police & Courts Building, Friday, June 16.
Leichty’s daughter, Zoe, and City of Goshen Clerk-Treasurer, Richard Aguirre, offered congratulatory remarks ahead of the swearing in ceremony.
Leichty announced to those attending the ceremony that creating unity has proven to be a passion of hers.
As of now, Leichty does not have any solidified plans for the future of Goshen. Plans will come once she is seated. Leichty is mainly focused on a smooth transition of power. Leichty and Stutsman have been working closely and diligently to learn the ins and outs of her new mayoral duties, how the city runs, and taking seminars and classes in Indianapolis learning even more about her new role.
Mayor Leichty’s first public appearance was at the Juneteenth celebration at Shanklin Park.
