Crowdfunding Campaign For Pickleball Courts In Nappanee
News Release
The Nappanee Parks Department is happy to announce plans to install 6 new pickleball courts in Stauffer Park! These courts will provide space for the exciting and extremely popular sport, enjoyed by players of all ages. We need your support to make this happen! We know that there is a huge demand for pickleball courts in Nappanee and we want to make this project a priority, but we cannot do it alone. With everyone’s support and generous contributions, we can add this exciting amenity in Nappanee.
What is better than a new pickleball court? How about 6 new pickleball courts! We have partnered with Versacourt and plan to bring 6 of their courts to Stauffer Park. These courts will be extremely durable and last for years to come. (Click on the link below to learn more about the Versacourt System and all of its benefits.)
Donations given by the community will support the Parks Department in funding:
- 6 pickleball courts
- Versacourt surfacing
- Permanent nets on all courts
- Leagues / tournaments
- Other amenities (i.e. lights, benches, wind screens, court dividers)
The Parks Department wants to be able to provide this amenity, giving the people of Nappanee the ability to enjoy a game of pickleball on this state-of-the-art court system.
This is how we are going make it happen:
Once we raise our goal of $35,000, we will receive a matching grant of $35,000 from IHCDA (this is an all-or-nothing grant program).
The campaign is part of the CreatINg Livable Communities Partnership between AARP Indiana and IHCDA’s CreatINg Places. It is a pilot partnership that assists Indiana communities in funding place-based projects for aging in place. In addition to matching funds from IHCDA, this project is eligible for up to $5,000 in matching funds from AARP Indiana.
This is a fantastic opportunity that will enable us to bring quality courts to Nappanee, but we need the help of the community to make us eligible for this grant. We will obtain all the benefits, but will only need to raise half the costs – almost too good to be true! To make this happen, we need to spread the word. Showing community support and giving small donations will be a huge part in making this possible. We have created several donation levels, each including some fantastic give-a-ways. These levels are just a way to show our appreciation, everyone is encouraged to only give what is comfortable – everything counts.
If you prefer to give offline by cash or check please make/drop mail donations to Nappanee Park Department at 1300 Thompson Drive, Nappanee, IN 46550
