Petersen Arrested For Domestic Battery

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after an alleged domestic incident.
Damien Wayde Petersen, 33, 506 S. Detroit St., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, both level 6 felonies.
On May 7, Warsaw Police officers responded to a domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a woman who said she and Petersen had a verbal argument, which turned physical.
According to court documents, Petersen allegedly shoved the woman to the floor and hit the left side of her head. A child in the home witnessed the incident.
Officers noticed bruising and swelling behind the woman’s left ear, a red mark on her left clavicle and redness around her neck.
Petersen said the woman attacked him and kicked him in the crotch, which led to him wrestling the woman to the ground to defend himself. Officers noticed scratches on Petersen’s back and arms, and a red mark on his face.
Petersen has already been arrested and released on bond.
