YWCA In Fort Wayne Launches Work On New Facility

FORT WAYNE — The YWCA of Northeast Indiana broke ground June 20 for its new facility, which will be located at the former Don Hall’s Guesthouse, 1313 W. Washington Center Road, Fort Wayne.
The YWCA is now in the final, public phase of a $16.7 million capital campaign for money to renovate the building and hopes to raise another $600,000.
The newly renovated facility will be named the Hefner Center because a significant gift toward the project from the William J. and Bonnie L. Hefner Foundation.
Renovations at the former hotel could be complete by next spring.
The YWCA serves people escaping domestic violence and women seeking addiction recovery.
