Valley Middle School Wrap – Sept. 17
It was a busy night Tuesday for athletic teams from Tippecanoe Valley Middle School.
Edgewood defeated Valley 25-14, 25-17 in volleyball action. Kayla Scott had eight points to lead Valley. Cheyenne Oldfather and Olivia Trippiedi each had two points, Shannon Dugan three digs and Asia O’Connor three blocks.
Edgewood also won the 7th grade match 25-13, 14-25, 15-8. Shayleigh Shriver led Valley with 11 points. Megan Olivarez and Sydney Howard each had nine points and Hannah Durkes seven.
Edgewood won the 7th grade B match 25-13. Sarah Myers, Mckenna Bradley and Andrea Dunnuck led Valley with three points each.
Southwood topped Valley 34-12 in 8th grade football action. Liam Leininger had a touchdown and 112 total yards and Drew Hartman had a receiving touchdown to lead Valley.
Wes Melanson had a huge game with six touchdowns and 270 total yards as Valley beat Southwood 44-8 in 7th grade action. Dwight Conley had an interception return for a touchdown for the winners.
In cross country action, Hailey Hoover led Valley with a ninth place finish in a time of 14:07. Sarah Tucker placed 17th in a time of 15:37 and Talor Weber was 24th in 16:22. Evan Lowman led the Valley boys team with a 10th place finish in a time of 13:25. Domingo Santiago was 28th in 15:42 and Alex Santiago 35th in 17:37.
