Warren Named Firefighter Of The Year
The annual Kosciusko County Fire Association’s fish fry was held Thursday night where the Firefighter of the Year was named and one fireman was honored for his service above and beyond the call of duty.
This year, Kris Warren of Mentone Fire Department was presented with the Firefighter of the Year award. Warren recently stepped down as assistant chief of the MFD, but is still active as a firefighter. He was honored for his many years of service and recognized as someone who “pours his heart and soul” into his duty as a volunteer fireman.
Bob Haines, fire chief of Claypool Fire Department, was presented with the Service Award for always going above and beyond in his role.
Also recognized during the annual dinner was the Mentone Fire Department, which earned the attendance award for not missing any county fire association meetings.
