Warsaw Schools’ Freshmen Orientation Happening Aug. 9
Press Release
WARSAW — Warsaw Community High School and Warsaw Area Career Center staff will hold freshmen orientation during Welcome Back Night on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at WCHS.
The Performing Arts Center doors will be open from 4:30-7 p.m. All incoming freshmen students and parents/guardians are invited to attend. Some highlights of the orientation will include important information regarding the school year, picking up student iPads, and hearing from key school figures including grade-level principal Leah Sprunger.
Due to space constraints, two separate but identical orientation meetings will be held. The first will be at 5 p.m. and the second will begin at 6:15 p.m. There will also be a meeting at 7:15 p.m. for students participating in athletics at WCHS. If you do not plan on participating in athletics, please attempt to attend the 5 p.m. orientation meeting. Students planning on playing a sport are encouraged to come to the 6:15 p.m. meeting and stay for the athletics meeting immediately following. However, you may attend either of the orientation meetings.
Students attending the 5 p.m. meeting are encouraged to walk the building and pick up their iPads in the cafeteria after the 5 p.m. meeting has concluded. Students attending the 6:15 p.m. meeting should come early to pick up their iPads and walk the building. Translators will be available to help with directions and iPad pick-up.
Students will receive their iPad at this event as well as information to purchase insurance on that device. Insurance is a valuable asset to have in case of an accident. iPad insurance for freshmen will be $28.
