SIDNEY — Lisa Parrett will be returning for her second term as Town Clerk Treasurer of Sidney, as she is running unopposed. Parrett will be representing the Republican party during her second term.
Parrett has lived in Sidney for the past 11 years and became acquainted with town council through her son, Gavin Parrett, who was already on the board.
Parrett had been attending meetings and began helping the former town clerk treasurer understand different computer programs when the former treasurer resigned. Kosciusko County GOP chairman, Mike Ragan, then appointed Lisa Parrett as town clerk treasurer.
When asked why she decided to run again she said “I have put a lot of effort forth, organizing and modernizing the system in Sidney, to bring the council into the 21st century and there is still more to be done.”
She explained, “As Town Clerk Treasurer, there is so much more to it than just paying bills and writing checks, I also write several of the grants for the improvement of the town, such as the community crossing grants that will serve to repair and improve our roads.”
Lisa Parrett has a bachelors in Computer Science and received a double Masters in Business Administration and Science of Management from Indiana Tech. Parrett retired from Zimmer as an Environmental Lab Specialist, where she monitored clean rooms to make sure they were up to FDA standard.
Lisa has been with her husband, Ron Parrett, for 27 years and together have one son, Gavin and are currently fostering a child.
