Pamalene Schaaf
Pamalene Schaaf, 60, of Akron, passed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
Pam was born on Sept. 24, 1962, in Warsaw, to John F. and Zefie (Conley) Jackson. On Dec. 25, 2007, she married James M. Schaaf, who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2010.
Pam was a forklift driver for Wabash Valley of Silver Lake and then worked for Walmart in Logansport. She loved negotiating at garage sales and going on vacation, especially to Tennessee. She also loved to care for her animals. Pam was a hero, a fighter and a warrior who fought cancer until the very end.
She is survived by her daughter, Chrissy and husband Ryan Phillips, of Peru; son, Tony Rameriz and Amanda Woods, of Akron; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; mother, Zefie Jackson, of Akron; and sister, Shirley and husband Kenith Isaacs, of Akron.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, John; husband, Jim; and a brother, John “Bub” Jackson.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
The interment will take place in the Gaerte Cemetery, Macy.
Visitation hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
Memorials can be made in her memory to the Beaver Dam Church/Wheels on Fire to assist community members who are fighting cancer.
