WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a woman while in the presence of three children.
Joshua Allen Wolfe, 33, 3750 Lake City Highway Lot 5, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, strangulation, and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, all level 6 felonies; and criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor.
On Aug. 12, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a domestic incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer noticed a woman with red, fresh marks on her chest and neck, and a cut on her right hand.
According to court documents, the woman said Wolfe threw items at her, hit her, broke her cellphone and pulled a wi-fi box out of a wall to prevent her from calling for help. He also allegedly hit the woman in the chest and choked her.
Three children were present during the altercation. One of the children said Wolfe threw a fan at them and also saw Wolfe punch the woman in the face.
Wolfe said he threw a fan but did not throw it at anyone. He denied anything physical occurred.
Wolfe was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 12, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
