Rosenberg To Lead State’s Economic Development Agency
News Release
INDIANAPOLIS — On Tuesday, Aug. 15, Gov. Eric Holcomb announced the promotion of David Rosenberg, 37, as the next CEO of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. He previously served as the agency’s chief operating officer.
Rosenberg succeeds Brad Chambers, who stepped down from the position after his two-year commitment lapsed Aug. 6. Since then, Chambers has filed paperwork to launch a political campaign to succeed Gov. Eric Holcomb. Rosenberg was one of Chambers’ first appointees for his leadership team when he originally took office in 2021.
Rosenberg will manage the government agency that has recently received a supplementary sum of $1.2 billion to put toward economic development projects.
This money has already gone to work in Boone County. The IEDC has around 9,000 acres of land for the LEAP Lebanon Innovation and Research District. This project is an advanced manufacturing hub that could possibly act as a prototype for other commercial and industrial parks throughout the state.
Rosenberg has reported there are multiple companies considering making powerful investments in the hub, potentially including a $50 billion investment by a semiconductor plant and a potential $3.2 billion investment data center.
Throughout the years, the IEDC has closed on some momentous deals through offering robust incentives. Some of these deals include up to $186 million for Stellantis, auto maker, and Samsung SDI, renewable battery manufacturer, to construct a Kokomo-based $2.5 billion electric-vehicle battery plant.
Rosenberg serves as a board member for the Boy Scouts of America’s Crossroads of America Council, Visit Indy and KIPP Public Schools.
