WARSAW — A Fort Wayne teenager was recently arrested for allegedly touching himself in front of a woman at a Warsaw business.
Chandler Donovan Smith, 19, Fort Wayne, is charged with public indecency, a class A misdemeanor; and public indecency with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.
On May 18, a Warsaw Police officer went to Planet Fitness regarding a complaint about indecent exposure. The officer spoke with a woman who said she saw a man inappropriately touching himself on two separate occasions while she was at the business.
According to court documents, on May 17, the woman was leaving the business when a man in a black vehicle parked next to hers and appeared to be touching himself.
The next day, the woman saw the same man and noticed his genitalia were exposed. She took a picture of the man and the license plate on his vehicle. She also recorded a video of the suspect fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed, leaving tire marks in the parking lot.
Because of this evidence, the officer was able to identify the suspect as Smith.
Smith has a prior conviction for public indecency in Allen County from December 2022. During that incident, Smith parked next to a woman at a gas station and inappropriately touched himself. He is also on pretrial release in Marshall County for public indecency with a prior conviction. The offense date for that case is Jan. 4.
Smith was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 16, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
