Parkview Occupational Health Certified By National Association Of Occupational Health Professionals
Press Release
FORT WAYNE — Parkview Occupational Health is now certified by the National Association of Occupational Health Professionals.
The new certification was announced at the recent Parkview Occupational Health Symposium, an annual gathering of occupational health professionals and regional clients, hosted at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation.
The NAOHP has awarded Parkview with a three-year Quality Initial Certification. This voluntary certification is awarded to occupational health practices that consistently meet NAOHP standards of optimizing program effectiveness and creating operational norms to help deliver quality services.
“Earning NAOHP certification is the culmination of a diligent effort across our practice to ensure we are meeting or exceeding industry standards for occupational medicine,” said Dr. Michael Knipp, medical director, Parkview Occupational Health. “This recognition reflects our daily commitment to providing evidence-based care devoted to worker health and safety.”
Parkview Occupational Health, a division of Parkview Employer Solutions, offers a variety of employee health services, such as employment physicals, injury treatment and proactive wellness programs. In total, Parkview Occupational Health serves around 4,500 business clients. That includes hundreds of regional clients in multiple business sectors such as manufacturing/industry, staffing agencies and municipalities, as well as employees working for numerous national firms that utilize Parkview for their occupational health needs.
Preparations for NAOHP certification began over a year ago, and each of Parkview Occupational Health’s 11 clinics underwent a rigorous, comprehensive review of their policies, programs and procedures to determine that their routine practice possesses the highest quality of skills and knowledge to offer to employers across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.
Occupational health programs and clinics undergoing NAOHP site certification are evaluated in comparison to established national standards in six categories: administration, operational framework, staffing processes, quality assurance, product line development, and sales and marketing.
NAOHP certification guarantees high-quality occupational health services that meet rigorous criteria for expertise, quality, and compliance with industry best practices. Case studies and statistics show that occupational health programs and NAOHP certification positively impact the health and productivity of the workforce, contributing significantly to organizational success.
“Parkview Occupational Health strives to help area employers create a healthier, more productive workplace—and a healthier bottom line,” said Shanda Gurrola, corporate employer health director, Parkview Occupational Health. “We’re proud to be recognized by the NAOHP as it reflects our commitment to excellence and high-quality care, for every person and every employer.
At the 2023 Parkview Occupational Health Symposium, local clients enjoyed an interactive, half-day event featuring multiple educational sessions on occupational health topics.
Sessions included a Q&A with Parkview Occupational Health providers, a session on the benefits of dynamic warm-up routines over stretch and flex programs, a health and safety trivia game, a presentation about managing workplace conflicts, testimonials about the importance of proactive injury care, and an informative presentation about employer medicine and its role in value-based care.
Parkview Employer Solutions partners with area businesses to deliver innovative services that improve the health and well-being of employees. In addition to occupational health services, it offers employee assistance programs, workplace wellness, employer clinics and more.
