WARSAW — Mentor Supply Chain, also known as Mentor Media, will have a grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 2, in Warsaw’s Tech Park.
According to Program Executive Rachel Rozow, the global company seeks to integrate into the orthopedic industry in Warsaw, offering supply chain solutions for manufacturers. Some of these solutions include sterilizing, packaging and warehousing.
They broke ground on the Warsaw Tech Park site in March of this year at 1395 Polk Drive and have worked rapidly to have the building functioning in time for its grand opening. The company began hiring staff members in August and has now accrued a team of four women to run the company.
“It is a fast-paced environment.” Elizabeth Rozow explained she had just recently started on Monday, Oct. 16. “…But Rachel prepared me, saying you really have to hit the ground sprinting.”
The four women and their job titles are as follows:
- Program Executive Rachel Rozow functions as the communication liason for the company.
- Human Resource Manager Jamei Boyer wears a few different hats currently, given their team is still small and working together to ensure the success of the company.
- Daiana Azor is the operations lead and is in charge of ensuring the quality and care of the products coming into the warehouse from manufacturers is upheld.
- Elizabeth Rozow is the process engineer for the company.
As the team provided information about the company and their roles, Rachel Rozow spoke about the effects of being a corporate entity. “Even though it is a corporate company, there is a balance with a lot of transparency and we are able to access a wealth of support and resources when we ask for them,” she explained. “When interviewing for this position, I spoke directly with the vice-president of the company in Singapore and he has made sure to continually check in and is available if we have any questions.”
Support staff from Singapore have been present to help train and equip the team of four to take over and will leave following the grand opening.
Quality Assurance
The lengths the company undertakes to ensure a product’s safety is extensive.
Azor spoke thoroughly about some of these different processes. One of these is called the Clean Room, where they receive products to clean, sterilize, package and label. Each worker must take extreme caution when trying to enter the Clean Room. They must follow all the procedures and be equipped with special socks, shoes, full body suits, hair nets, face masks and gloves, all needing to be put on beforehand. There must be no exposed area on the worker to avoid risking the sterility of the room and the product.
Rachel Rozow followed this by saying how seriously they take these measures.
“We want to respect the manufacturer’s products while they are here, and always keep in mind where these products will go. We as a team recognize the gravity of our job and how these measures impact the safety of people who receive the product. Some of these products we will be receiving are medical devices and instruments, impacting someone’s life directly.”
She continued on, saying, “This attitude of care and respect is something that we are really prioritizing as we build our company’s culture… To be able to have a good time and enjoy our work, but also never forget the importance and weight of the job we are doing.”
