Syracuse Cemetery Clean Up, Dog Walks
News Release
SYRACUSE — April and October are cemetery clean up months for the Syracuse Cemetery Association. All decorations, if not already removed, will be disposed of.
“Please remember that April and October are the months to remove old and tattered decorations on the graves. We want all to be able to enjoy and make the cemetery look good throughout the year,” the Friends of Syracuse Cemetery Association wrote on Facebook.
The Friends of Syracuse Cemetery Association also ask those who walk their dogs through the cemetery to be mindful and clean up any waste.
“Please do not let them pee on headstones, as it does damage to the stones,” the association wrote on Facebook.
Other Syracuse Cemetery Association rules include: no trees or shrubs planted without permission, flowers in cans or glass containers will be removed, anything that detracts from the overall beauty of this cemetery will be removed, put all debris in trash barrels, no concrete work without permission and no one is allowed in the cemetery after dark.
