Tiger Spikers Continue Success
WARSAW – The Warsaw volleyball team continued its recent run of success Monday night.
The Tigers took care of Huntington North 3-0 in a non-conference matchup in the Tiger Den.
Warsaw topped the visiting Vikings by a 25-21, 25-12, 25-21 count.
The Tigers improve to 18-5 on the season. Coach Mike Howard’s team has now won 12 of its’ last 14 matches since starting the season 6-3.
Emily Poe powered the offensive attack for the Tigers in the victory with a team-high 11 kills.
Senior Laura Craig had a strong all-around match for Warsaw with five kills to go with 10 digs and three aces.
Katie Voelz had four kills, two aces and a block in the win. Cassie Hoag had three aces and nine assists. Megan Chauncey had 13 assists and Jordyn Lindeman led the team with three blocks.
Peyton Adamiec had 10 digs to tie Craig for team-high honors.
The Warsaw junior varsity team opened the night with a 25-11, 25-24 win.
Courtney Steffensmeier led the Warsaw JV attack with six kills. Haley Peterson had five kills and one block.
Kendra Burns had 20 assists and two aces. Caroline Mayer had eight digs and Kenzie Welk had seven digs, one ace and a block. Dayton Groninger had a block.
The Warsaw JV team is now 15-3 on the season.
Warsaw concludes Northern Lakes Conference play Thursday night at league foe Concord. The Tigers are 4-2 in the NLC.
