Kenneth N. Baber
Kenneth N. Baber, 90, of Warsaw, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at home.
Kenny was born on Jan. 30, 1933, to Earl and Mable (Keesey) Baber in Miami County, Indiana. On Dec. 24, 1952, he married the love of his life, Marjorie “Marj” Walker, 10 days after their first date. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2016.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for both J&M Gravel and Coursey Asphalt. Kenny and Marj owned Baber’s Kwik-Way in Atwood. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
Kenny is survived by his children, Gerry Baber, of Warsaw, Teresa (John) Calhoun, of Warsaw, and Tracy (Jim) Moyer, of Etna Green; eight grandchildren, Dustin Calhoun (April Elkovitch), Brianne (Bryan) Kendall, Bronson Baber, Branigan (Tyson) VanCleave, Brooklyn (Josh) McKenzie, Trista (Jeremy) Sherman, Christian (Amber) Moyer and Braxton Baber; great-grandchildren, Bennett, Connor and Kaiden McKenzie, Lily Kendell, Avery and Amelia Sherman, Izabella, Maddie, Harper and Bailey VanCleave, Sam Baber and Oliver Baber; sister, Nancy Sarver; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Marj, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bill and Dick Sr. Baber and Eldonna Blacketor.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 22, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Rick Baber officiating.
Burial will be in Wooden – Harrison Center Cemetery, 7995 100S, Etna Green, with military honors.
