Syracuse Public Library — Hosting Teen Valentine’s Craft Feb. 22

SYRACUSE — Syracuse Public Library’s teen advisory board is presenting a Valentine’s craft at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in the Rosalyn Jones Room. Teens in sixth through 12th grade will create flowers using recycled book pages.
Programs For Adults
Players of all skill levels are welcome to join Mahjong at 1 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday, in the library’s downstairs meeting room.
The library’s adult writing group, The Workshop, meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the downstairs meeting room. Writers of all genres are encouraged to bring pieces to share. The hour-long session usually contains discussions about writing, too.
In the Garden meets at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in the downstairs meeting room. During this meeting, the group will discuss the first four chapters of “Entangled Life” by Merlin Sheldrake, which examines the critical roles fungi play in the world. Copies of the book are available at the Syracuse Public Library.
Children’s Programs
Preschoolers will continue to explore the alphabet during story time at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the children’s department. During each session, children listen to storybooks, learn some American sign language and complete letter-themed crafts.
During home-school class at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 21, younger students in first through third grades will learn about food science. Older children will also study food science Wednesday, Feb. 28.
