Area Accident Reports
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:07 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, CR 29 and CR 52, Syracuse. Drivers: Kari Shepard, 44, Syracuse; and Christina Miller, 52, Syracuse. Shepard didn’t see a stop sign, which caused her vehicle to collide with Miller’s. Miller was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for a complaint of neck and head pain. One of Shepard’s passenger, Kaeclin Shepard, 18, Cromwell, was transported to Goshen Hospital for a complaint of neck and back pain.
- 5:57 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, US 6 and CR 37, Syracuse. Drivers: Anthony Shepherd, 39, Warsaw; and Brittany Mast, 29, Goshen. Shepherd lost control of his vehicle on ice, where it spun into Mast’s vehicle. Mast’s vehicle went into a ditch and she was able to exit before the car caught fire. Mast was transported to Goshen General Hospital for a complaint of neck pain.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 10:22 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 7000 block South SR 17, south of Kewanna. Driver: Colton A. Welker, 24, Winamac. Welker’s vehicle hit a NIPSCO utility pole while turning.
- 3:24 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, South CR 1200W and West CR 500S, Kewanna. Driver: Lucas M. Rudicel, 28, Rochester. Rudicel’s vehicle hit a deer.
- 9:41 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 3000 block East CR 750S, Macy. Drivers: B.J. Miller, 17, Macy; and Joshua W. McKinney, Macy. Miller and McKinney’s vehicles collided.
- 10:46 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, East Ninth Street and Monroe Street, Rochester. Drivers: William S. Wilson, 72, Rochester; and Gregory L. Heller, 63, Rochester. Wilson and Heller’s vehicles collided in front of Rochester Bagel and Coffee House.
- 6:21 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, US 31 and East Olson Road, Rochester. Driver: Gregory M. Gonzalez, 33, Elkhart. Gonzalez’s vehicle slid on ice and flipped over.
- 7:13 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, CR 650E between CR 300N and CR 400N, north of Athens. Driver: Jake A. Keininger, 48, Macy. Keininger’s vehicle hit a deer.
