Cromwell Man Arrested For Operating Vehicle As Habitual Traffic Violator
Staff Report
CROMWELL — A Cromwell man was recently arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator.
Johnny Eugene Hall, 51, 11901 Fuzzy Bear Road, Cromwell, is charged with operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, a level 5 felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony.
On March 26, 2023, an Indiana State Police trooper was in the area of Cromwell when he noticed a vehicle with a loud and leaky muffler. The trooper followed the vehicle and identified its driver as Hall.
According to court documents, Hall told the trooper he did not have a driver’s license. The trooper later determined Hall was a lifetime habitual traffic violator, having had his driving privileges suspended for life in Noble County in April 2017. The trooper also discovered Hall had an active arrest warrant for theft in Noble County.
A K9 unit alerted to illegal drugs in Hall’s vehicle. Hall admitted to using meth and that it had been a few days since he used drugs. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found meth. Hall told officers he had fallen and hurt his side. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a punctured and deflated lung.
At the time of this incident, Hall had an active criminal case for meth possession in Noble County. He also has prior convictions for possession of chemical reagents or precursors, operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, burglary, and escape.
Hall was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 27, 2024, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
