CLAYPOOL — A garage with two vehicles inside was destroyed during a fire Sunday, March 10.
According to Sidney-Jackson Township Fire Chief Kyle Wagoner, Sidney Fire was dispatched around 12:06 a.m. to 7608 S. 400E, Claypool, for a structure fire that was reported fully engulfed, with propane and ammunition inside.
Wagoner said the garage caught fire, then spread to the house through the attic. Firefighters had to pull down the roof to stop the fire, Waggoner said.
Wagoner said the propane and ammunition didn’t contribute to the start of the fire. He estimates the fire was under control in around three hours. Multiple departments were dispatched to assist “primarily for manpower and water,” Wagoner said.
None of the occupants or firefighters were hurt in the fire, Wagoner reported.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Assisting on the scene were the Silver Lake Fire Department, Claypool Fire Department and Pierceton Fire Department.
