Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 10:44 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, North SR 13 at East Main Street, Syracuse. Driver: Beverly Helmer, 75, North Rainey Road, Syracuse. Helmer experienced a blood sugar low while making a left turn and her vehicle struck an unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 3638 Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Joseph E. Banks III, 84, Edgewood Drive, Warsaw; and David L. Cox, 70, Kelly Drive, Warsaw. Banks was attempting to park his vehicle when he sideswiped Cox’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:33 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 1307 Mariners Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Lee A. Stewart, 71, East Defreese Road, Syracuse. Stewart was exiting a private drive when her vehicle left the roadway, hitting a concrete light structure. Stewart complained of neck pain but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:21 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2450 Deelyn Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Elena A. Rayl, 70, Senior Court, Warsaw. Rayl said she accidentally put her vehicle in reverse, and hit the west side of the Danco Anodizing building. Her vehicle also hit a yellow pole, causing it to shift slightly. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:21 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2450 Deelyn Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Elena A. Rayl, 70, Senior Court, Warsaw. Prior to hitting the Danco Anodizing building, Rayl was attempting to park her vehicle when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 2:52 p.m. Monday, May 27, Pope Street, at the intersection of Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: William K. Overton, 66, Michaels Street, Warsaw; and Adien K. Lozier, 19, East Walnut Street, Silver Lake. Overton was backing his vehicle so a vehicle pulling a boat could make its turn when he backed into Lozier’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 2:46 p.m. Sunday, May 26, Cedar Street, at the intersection of East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Floyd L. Smith, 41, North Orchard Drive, Warsaw; and Anthony W. Baker, 37, North Brook Boulevard, Warsaw. Smith ran a stop sign at the Cedar and East Fort Wayne Street intersection, causing his vehicle to be hit by Baker’s. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:50 p.m. Saturday, May 25, West Main Street, west of North Washington Street, Warsaw. Driver: Sharon K. Grimes, 77, West Main Street Apartment 208, Warsaw. Grimes was attempting to park her vehicle when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 4:38 p.m. Friday, May 24, US 30, at the intersection of South CR 250E, Warsaw. Drivers: Roger W. Kapp, 66, South CR 375W, North Judson; and Kyle J. Cuban, 27, Esplanade Street, Winona Lake. Kapp ran a red light while traveling west on US 30, and hit Cuban’s vehicle while Cuban was attempting to cross US 30. The collision caused Kapp’s vehicle to roll over. Kapp sustained a head abrasion and a passenger in his vehicle, Gladys E. Kapp, 64, North Judson, sustained a minor injury to her elbow and lower arm area. The Kapps were taken to Parkview Warsaw. Cuban was later booked in the Kosciusko County Jail for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury. Damage up to $50,000.
- 4:11 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2501 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Drivers: Tavonte M. Wilbert, 23, Raleigh Court, Columbia City; and Charlotte M. Wise, 54, East CR 300S, Warsaw. Wilbert was attempting to back his vehicle from a parking space when he hit Wise’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 12:36 p.m. Thursday, May 23, Dubois Drive, west of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Richard D. White, 76, Buck Trail, Warsaw; and Stacy E. Gamble, 50, Boicourt, Rochester. White was attempting to leave a parking lot when he hit Gamble’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 3:01 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 3400 block Strawberry Lane, Rochester. Driver: Chris Danielson, 42, Rochester. Danielson’s pickup truck hit a mailbox after he fell asleep.
