Holiday Merchants Occupy Former License Branch
A total of three merchants will share space in the former license branch building in downtown Warsaw as part of the city’s first Pop Up Holiday Shops program.
After a brief announcement at Monday night’s Warsaw Common Council meeting, Mark Dobson, IOM, president and CEO of the Warsaw/Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, told StaceyPageOnline.com that details are now being finalized for the three businesses that plan to open for business on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
The businesses to be included in the program are:
- Shanghai Tai – offering custom art jewelry
- Indiana Urban Lumber – offering home furnishing from locally harvested lumber
- Sharon Cole and Angela Bredeeg – offering jewelry, purses, lotions, American Doll clothing, book covers, etc.
Basing the program on a similar one in South Bend, the city of Warsaw and the Warsaw Community Development Corporation worked together since late September to bring more shopping opportunities downtown for the holidays by utilizing some of the vacant locations. Dobson credited Mike Dilling, owner of the former license branch building at 213 S. Lake St., for allowing use of his building for the program and getting the details finalized.
“When all of the pop-ups are in, the old license branch will be full,” said Dobson. “It will be a great place to purchase that unique gift.”
Beginning next Wednesday, the shops will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with reduced hours on Sunday.
