Winona Lake Man Arrested For Home Invasion
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a Winona Lake man for a home invasion that happened in New Paris on Nov. 4.
Jeffrey Ramon Hill, 43, was arrested Tuesday and preliminary charged with armed robbery in Elkhart County. He was allegedly one of two suspects who forced their way into an elderly New Paris couple’s home, injuring the man and robbing the pair of money, guns and electronics. (See related)
Homeowner Donald B. Neer, 78, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital following the home invasion and treated for a broken neck, according to his family. Police say he was struck with a metal object during the robbery.
The Neers identified the suspects at two black males, both slender in build and possibly in their early 40s.
Hill’s arrest follows an investigation Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department officers had been working since the incident. Further investigation into any other individuals involved is ongoing.
