Warsaw Woman Arrested For Allegedly Stealing iPhone
Staff Report
LEESBURG — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested for allegedly stealing an iPhone while at a local winery.
Christy Ann Singrey, 63, 1719 Betsy Court, Warsaw, is charged with theft where the value of the property is between $750 and $50,000, a level 6 felony.
On April 20, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a theft report at Tippy Creek Winery in Leesburg. A woman said she went to the bar to order a drink and sat her iPhone 14 down on the bar.
According to court documents, the woman said she went back to her table to see if her husband wanted anything to drink. When the woman went back to the bar, she noticed her phone was gone. A winery employee looked at surveillance footage and saw Singrey take the woman’s phone.
The footage showed Singrey getting up from her seat, walking by the phone, looking around, and picking up the phone. Singrey allegedly placed the phone in her purse and left the winery.
The woman had a wallet attached to her phone containing $200 in cash, multiple credit cards, and an ID. The estimated value of the phone and cash was over $750.
Singrey has already been arrested and released on bond.
