PIERCETON — The second annual Birthday Bash, hosted by the Animal Welfare League, was an afternoon of family fun and activities Saturday, Aug. 3.
Held from noon to 4 p.m. there were vendors specializing in various areas including treats and wooden decorations, face painting and free ice cream from the Leesburg Lions. Warsaw’s Animal Control Officer, Dalis Owen was on hand to answer questions, and provide important literature.
Runway Farm was on hand for an opportunity to pet a donkey, sheep, alpaca and llama.
The event was in honor of National Dog Month and the Universal Birthday of Shelter Dogs.
Visitors had the opportunity to meet the shelter residents – both cats and dogs. Toward the end of the event four dogs and eight cats and kittens had been adopted.
The free open house was followed by a fundraising event at Noa, Noa.
If you didn’t get a chance to attend the Birthday Bash, stop in throughout the week to see the dogs and cats available for adoption and help them find their forever home. The AWL is located at 1048 S. 325E, Pierceton.
