Area Accident Reports
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 1:21 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, US 30, west of East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Christian-Rafael Perez-Guzman, 24, McKinnie Avenue, Fort Wayne. Perez-Guzman’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, South Detroit Street, at the intersection of SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Kayla R. Rogers, 34, William Drive, Winona Lake; and Mark A. Kline, 59, South Shore Drive, Mishawaka. Rogers’ child was crying. She was distracted and hit the back of Kline’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:20 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, Center Street, at the intersection of Tamarack Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kylelaya Duff, 39, East Center Street, Warsaw; and Brandon S. Vanover, 37, Wooster Road, Pierceton. Duff pulled into the path of Vanover’s vehicle, causing a collision. A passenger in Duff’s vehicle complained of arm pain, but declined EMS. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, East Winona Avenue, east of North Bay Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Rebecca M. Kaster, 45, West Plaza Drive, Columbia City; and Jenna R. Shriver, 38, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Kaster’s vehicle hit the back of Shriver’s vehicle. Shriver failed to provide insurance information. Damage up to $5,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:58 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, SR 14 and South CR 575E, Rochester. Driver: Zachari R. Townsend, 36, North Manchester. Townsend’s motorcycle crashed, resulting in lacerations, head injuries and possible broken ribs.
- 9:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, CR 400N and North CR 700W, Rochester. Driver: Trisha R. Thomas, 48, Rochester. Thomas’ vehicle hit a pole. Airbags deployed but the pole was intact.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, US 30 and Union Road, Plymouth. Drivers: Brittany Humes, 22, Plymouth; and Stephanie Paulson, 36, Union Mills. Humes’s vehicle was crossing US 30 and failed to yield, colliding with Paulson’s vehicle. Paulson was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for wrist pain, along with a juvenile passenger who was transported for head pain.
- 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, US 31 and 16th Road, Argos. Drivers: Helen G. Epley, 78, Argos; and Kristen M. Riegseaker, 36, Middlebury. Epley’s vehicle failed to yield during a turn and collided with Riegseaker’s vehicle. Riegseaker was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for wrist pain.
