Staff Report
MILFORD — A Nappanee man was arrested after a high-speed vehicle pursuit with law enforcement.
Joshua Loren Borkholder, 45, 13317 N. 700W, Nappanee, is charged with resisting law enforcement and counterfeiting, both level 6 felonies; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 22, a Milford Police officer was patrolling near SR 15 and CR 1350N when he saw a motorcycle traveling 92 mph in a 55-mph zone. The motorcycle also passed a vehicle in a no-passing zone.
According to court documents, when the officer attempted to pull the motorcycle over, its driver continued to flee at speeds over 100 mph. During the pursuit, the motorcyclist, later identified as Borkholder, drove through a ditch, went down a driveway, and entered a cornfield. Upon entering the field, Borkholder crashed his motorcycle and then began fleeing on foot.
A drone was used to locate Borkholder.
While being taken into custody at the Kosciusko County Jail, officers found four counterfeit $50 bills and two counterfeit $10 bills on Borkholder’s person.
Borkholder has already been arrested and released on bond. He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
