MERRILLVILLE — A statewide Silver Alert has been declared for a missing Merrillville woman.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the disappearance of Vicki Lynn Kirkwood, a 55-year-old black female. She is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Vicki was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants with multi colored stripes in Merrillville at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6.

She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
