Staff Report
SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man was recently arrested after the execution of a search warrant at a local business resulted in the discovery of child porn.
Alexander Cole Gibson, 26, 501 Prairie Drive, Syracuse, is charged with possession of child pornography, a level 5 felony.
On May 23, the Indiana State Excise Police served a warrant at a business in Syracuse regarding alleged illegal sales of alcoholic beverages.
According to court documents, while in that capacity, officers had contact with the business’s manager, identified as Gibson. At the time of the search warrant, Gibson had three electronic devices in his possession. The warrant allowed officers to analyze seized electronic devices, and the devices’ data was downloaded for examination.
Upon searching Gibson’s cellphone, which was seized during the investigation, officers found images depicting child sexual assault material.
Gibson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 5. As part of his bond conditions, Gibson cannot be alone with any individual under the age of 18. He also cannot leave Kosciusko County without court permission and cannot use or access the Internet at any time for any reason.
