MILFORD  — Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month this September with Milford Public Library and the American Library Association. It’s inviting everyone to discover the incredible resources and opportunities available at your local library by signing up for a library card.

This year, they are thrilled to have Optimus Prime from the Transformers as the special ambassador, highlighting that there’s more than meets the eye at Milford Public Library. Whether you’re looking to enhance your skills, find valuable information or connect with fellow avid readers, a library card unlocks a world of possibilities.

Today’s libraries are vibrant community centers offering much more than just books. They have programming for all ages throughout the year. You can download digital books through Libby. They have a great selection of DVDs and music CDs to check out.

Curious about exploring a new hobby or learning a new language? Milford Public Library has the resources you need. Being part of the Evergreen Indiana consortia makes almost eight million materials available to 1.5 million Hoosiers. Milford Public Library can borrow materials you want and have them here and ready for check-out within a week’s time.

Did you know that Milford Public Library offers cake pans to borrow? They also have a free jigsaw puzzle exchange in the adult department. Bring a puzzle you have finished and trade it for one available on display at the Milford Public Library. There’s truly something for everyone. Getting a library card is easy and is an essential step toward academic success and lifelong learning for students. Everyone should have one.

Autism Sensory Kits Available

The Lakes Area Autism Network has donated some sensory kits to MPL. Each kit has a safety ear muff for adults and kids, some fidget games, a lanyard and a “I feel…” card. The kits are free to families dealing with autism. The supply is limited, so ask at the adult circulation desk for a kit today.
