GARY — A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Gary teen.

Ja’Niyah McMichael

The Gary Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Ja’Niyah McMichael.

She is a 13-year-old black female who is 4-feet 3-inches tall and 101 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pajamas and black and red shoes.

McMichael was last seen at 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11. She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
