Rickey Hicks Sr., 75, South Whitley, formerly of Big Springs in Knott County in Kentucky, was born to Allen “Boot” and Evelyn (Risner) Hicks on Aug. 22, 1949.

On Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, Rickey passed away peacefully at home.

The loving memory of Rickey Hicks Sr. will be forever cherished by his wife, Kathleen Hicks; daughter Linda Hackworth; sons Rickey Hicks Jr. and Jeremy Hicks; stepsons Greg and John Henderson; sister Johanna Maiden; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; son Joshua Hicks; stepdaughter Diane Witte; brother Birchel Hicks; sisters, Elizabeth Fraley and Patty Clouse; great-grandchild Cameron; stepgrandchild Stephen; and stepgreat-grandchildren Kylie and Leland.

Family and friends may call 3-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 West, North Manchester.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept.14, 2024, with calling beginning at 9 a.m. at McKee Mortuary. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at New Haven IOOF Cemetery, 1109 Hartzell Road, New Haven.
