Warsaw Honors Fall Sports Athletes
WARSAW – The recently completed fall sports season was a highly-successful one once again for the Warsaw Community High School athletic programs.
The eight Tiger sports programs have announced their award winners for the 2013-14 season.
The boys tennis team of coach Rick Orban saluted Evan Miller (MVP), Caleb Ray (MIP) and Nic Jansen (MIP).
The girls golf team of coach Chris LaLonde honored Nikki LaLonde (MVP), Elizabeth Meadows (Co-MVP), Page Desenberg (Coaches Award), Aarshia Jain (Most Improved 9 holes), Miranda Domiano (Most Improved 18 holes) and Madi Graham (Mental Attitude).
Coach Mike Howard’s volleyball team recognized Cassie Hoag (Coaches Award), Ashley Vitoux (Hustle Award), Celia Heckert (Mental Attitude), Katie Voelz (Offensive MVP), Laura Craig (Defensive MVP), Taylor Jagger (Tiger Spirit), Marie West (Tiger Spirit), Makenzie Welk (JV Offensive MVP), Caroline Mayer (JV Defensive MVP), Brynn Durecki (JV Most Improved), Courtney Steffensmeier (JV Coaches) and Lucy Fahler (Freshman Tiger Spirit).
The boys cross country team of coach Jim Mills honored Ellis Coon (MVP), Nick Bergen (MIP), Owen Glogovsky (Most Dedicated Runner), Avery Torres (Top Freshman), Ryan Goon (Senior Award), Aaron Haller (Senior Award), Curtis Rider (Senior Award), Jonathan Beres (Rookie of the Year) and Tyler Houvener (Coaches Award).
The girls cross country team, coached by Scott Erba, saluted Allison Miller (Most Outstanding), Charlene Orr (Rookie of the Year), Brooke Rhodes (Most Improved), Emma Hayward (Comeback Runner), Madeline Hooks (Senior Leader), Aletheia Burritt (Mental Attitude) and Shyanne McFadden (JV Most Improved).
The girls soccer team of coach Peter Lucht honored Danielle Hutcherson (MVP), Jamelyn Shirk (MIP), Rosie Fleming (MIP), Brooklyn Jackson (Golden Boot), Elizabeth VanWormer (Silver Boot), Abby Schue (Defensive Player), Megan Kratzsch (Tiger Award) and Cristina Tiahuetl (JV MVP).
The football team, coached by Phil Jensen, recognized Brett Anson, Tristan McClone, Peter Shepherd, Ian Slone, Zach Stichter, Jake Mangas and Caleb Wooldridge all with Tiger Awards.
The boys soccer team of coach Scott Bauer honored Miguel Rivera (MVP), Tito Cuellar (MIP), Stephen Kolbe (Defensive), Zack Tucker (Offensive) and Brad O’Cock (JV MVP).
