Child Porn Draws 5 Year Sentence
Adam C. Snyder, 28, of Warsaw, was sentenced this week in federal court for the felony offense of possessing child pornography, an illegal hobby he had been involved in for years.
Snyder was arrested in February after a freelance computer specialist was hired by Snyder to remove the hard drive from a computer. The freelancer found the child pornography, that also included adult men having intercourse with infant children, and reported it to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. (See related)
Upon the initial report, a search warrant was obtained and the computer was sent to the U.S. Secret Service on Feb. 7 for a forensic investigation. The investigation, conducted by the Secret Service, Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department found that Snyder used a peer-to-peer system known as Frostwire to download numerous images and videos that depicted minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Snyder had been downloading the material for years.
Snyder was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in a federal prison and then 5 years of supervised released.
