WARSAW — Whether you’re looking for fun activities for kids, family-friendly entertainment or engaging programs for adults, Warsaw Community Public Library has something for everyone in October.
For our youngest visitors, we continue our regular early literacy programs with Toddler Story Time at 10:15 Wednesday mornings and Preschool Story Time & Activity Stations on Monday and Friday mornings at 10:15. Library Lego meets on Saturday, Oct. 5. And Greyt Readers on Saturday, Oct. 26, provides young readers a chance to practice their reading skills with our greyhound friends.
October also brings special treats for kids. On Wednesday, Oct. 16, Roz Puppets returns with two performances (10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.) of “Mother Hubbard’s Haunted Cupboard,” a seasonal show sure to delight all. And for those who can’t wait for Halloween, join us for the library’s Halloween Happenings from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, for games, crafts and treats for the whole family. It’s a fun-filled evening where costumes are welcome but not required.
If you’re looking for unique experiences to enjoy as a family, don’t miss the one-man show about the famous escape artist Harry Houdini at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1. At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, U.K.-based folk singer Sarah McQuaid will be performing live.
The fun doesn’t stop there. The Local Author Book Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, is a great chance to meet local writers and explore new stories. And at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, our Fun with Theatre program participants will showcase their talents in a public performance you won’t want to miss. Family Bingo returns on Saturday, Oct. 12, offering a morning of prizes and fun.
Adults have plenty to look forward to as well. Join us for a friendly game of euchre from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Our new Genre Book Club starts at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, with the first meeting focusing on the mystery genre. If writing is more your style, the Adult Creative Writing Club meets again at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22. And for those prepping their homes for winter, Emily Kresca from Purdue Extension will lead an informative session about fall clean-up and winter preparation at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.
No matter your age or interest, Warsaw Community Public Library is your destination for learning, fun and community this October.
