North Webster Community Public Library — Get Ready For A Spine-Chilling October With Friday Night Fright Features

NORTH WEBSTER — This October, North Webster Community Public Library invites the public to enjoy a series of spooky after-hours movie nights with its “Friday Night Fright Feature” program.
On Friday evenings, the library will host a thrilling lineup of classic scary films, including two interactive movie experiences.
Join in for these eerie screenings:
Oct. 4 — “Jaws” (interactive movie)
Oct. 18 — “Gremlins” (interactive movie)
Oct. 25 — “Psycho”
Movies will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and are free to attend. Registration is required for the interactive screenings of “Jaws” and “Gremlins” to ensure proper planning.
These events are primarily geared toward adults, but students under 13 are welcome with adult supervision.

Library Closed For Staff Training
NWCPL will be closed on Friday, Oct. 11, for staff training. The library will be open for normal business hours on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Weekly Library Events
The following activities are set to take place at North Webster Community Public Library. Attendees do not need to have a library card to participate in any of these events. All programs are free, unless otherwise noted.
Adult Events
“Scary Stuff Series: Scams and How to Spot Them” will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Keep yourself and your loved ones safe by learning to protect yourself in today’s digital world; register in advance.
Come make an adorable fall gnome at the adult craft class held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Class is free and all materials are provided. Register in advance.
Citizen Science Club will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. Just because fall has arrived, doesn’t mean citizen science has to end. Learn how to enjoy citizen science activities from the comfort of your own home, from computer-based activities to bird watching from your windows.
Teen Events
Teen Café will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to stop by the library to see friends, relax, enjoy snacks, make a craft, study, play games or color.
Teen Artist Circle will be meeting off-site at Lakeside Coffee Co. in Syracuse at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Bring any creative work by an artist or author you admire (or yourself). This is a collaborative program between Syracuse Public Library and North Webster Community Public Library.
Do you enjoy creating? Drop in to the Teen Pop-Up Makerspace program between 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. Make your own buttons, try your hand at 3-D pen creations and use their supplies for nostalgic favorites, like perler beads and friendship bracelets.; open to grades 6-12.
Children’s Events
Baby and toddler story time will be happening at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Join Miss Cathy for songs, stories and intentional play for children ages birth through 36 months. Sign up in person or by calling the library at (574) 834-7122. Wiggles are expected and encouraged.
Preschool story time will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. Mrs. Pam will be sharing stories, songs, finger plays and crafts. This event is geared toward children ages 3-6. Register in person or by calling the library. Visitors are always welcome.
LEGO Disaster Island Adventures will be happening at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. Join in for an exciting time of building with LEGOs and using creativity to solve special challenges.
