MARSHALL COUNTY — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Phend & Brown Ind. will have traffic delays on US 31 to set beams for the southbound bridge over Elkhart Western Railroad between 13th Road and 14th Road.

Traffic delays are expected Wednesday, Oct. 9, through Friday, Oct. 18, for staging (crane and beam delivery, crane removal, etc.), as well as the actual beam setting. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, traffic will be stopped for up to 30 minutes at a time while the six bridge beams are set.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes or expect traffic delays. The schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change. INDOT encourages motorists to slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
