Fort Wayne Trooper Recognized For 40 Years Of Service
Press Release
FORT WAYNE — Indiana State Police Master Trooper Kent Roe recently celebrated his 40th year of service with the department.
Master Trooper Roe was sworn into duty as a state trooper on Nov. 18, after graduating with the 42nd ISP Academy Class.
Like so many other ISP troopers right out of the academy, Roe spent his first three years assigned to the Lowell Post patrolling the interstates up in the Lake County region. In 1987, he was transferred home to the Fort Wayne Post and has remained here ever since.
Master Trooper Roe has been primarily assigned to patrol duties in Allen County over the course of his career, but also served with the ISP Emergency Response Team II (SWAT) for eight years. In the early 90s, he was assigned to the High Performance Vehicle program, where he patrolled in one of the department’s unmarked Ford Mustangs.
Master Trooper Roe remains assigned to patrol duties in Allen County. He and his wife Debbie are longtime residents of Allen County. Together they have three adult children and five grandchildren.
