Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

• 1 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, West US 30, at the intersection of North CR 650W, Atwood. Driver: Jonathan W. Owens, 18, 16th Road, Argos. Owens’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.

• 12:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, North CR 475E, at the intersection of East CR 375N, Warsaw. Driver: Patience R. Kingrey, 17, EMS T7A Lane, Leesburg. Kingrey’s vehicle left the roadway, entering a ditch and hitting some trees. Her vehicle came to a rest on its passenger’s side. Damage up to $10,000.

• 7:54 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, East Old Road 30, west of Old Trail Road, Pierceton. Driver: Chris L. Rinehart, 44, North Main Street Apartment E., North Webster. Rinehart was traveling west on East Old Road 30 when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway. Tire marks showed Rinehart attempted to overcorrect his vehicle, causing his vehicle to cross left of center, enter a ditch line, and hit a tree. Rinehart was pronounced deceased at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.

• 9:29 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, North CR 300E, at the intersection of East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Jocelyn M. Beemer, 26, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw. Beemer’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.

• 7:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, South SR 15, at the intersection of West CR 350S, Warsaw. Driver: Gordon L. Belles, 65, West CR 800S, Claypool. Belles’ vehicle hit a dead deer laying in the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.

• 2:48 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 101 N. Main St., Claypool. Driver: Gregory Helton, 19, West Walnut Street, Claypool. Helton was backing his vehicle from a parking space when he hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

• 9:12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, SR 25, at the intersection of South CR 950W, Mentone. Driver: James E. Morgan, 76, South West Street, Akron. Morgan’s vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch. Morgan was later arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Damage up to $25,000.

• 2:21 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, North CR 700E, at the intersection of East CR 500N, Leesburg. Drivers: Kaden R. Templeton, 22, East Pleasant Grove Drive, Warsaw; and Andrew M. Franks, 31, East Hazel Street, Albion. Templeton was attempting to turn right into the eastbound lanes of US 30 when he entered Franks’ path of travel. Damage up to $10,000.

• 8:04 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Julia R. McKay, 65, East CR 500S, Warsaw. McKay’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $25,000.

• 6:02 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, West CR 350S, east of South SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Jason Tackitt, 46, North Syracuse Webster Road, Syracuse. Tackitt’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
