Cocaine Dealer Sentenced To 6 Years
Convicted of dealing cocaine, a Warsaw man was sentenced to 6 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Nathan Lafountain, 23, was convicted Thursday on a Class A felony charge of dealing cocaine. The charge stemmed from a May incident in which Lafountain was found by Warsaw Police to be in possession of 31 grams of cocaine, some marijuana, scales and $608 in cash.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Lafountain’s vehicle was seen at a residence where known drug activity was taking place. Police conducting surveillance on the home and followed Lafountain’s vehicle. They were able to conduct a traffic stop when he disregarded a stop sign. A police K9 was brought in and alerted to drugs in the vehicle. The officers searched the vehicle and located the drugs.
Lafountain pleaded guilty to the A felony charge and a second C felony charge of possession of cocaine was dismissed.
