Warsaw Elks Annual Kids Christmas Party
The Warsaw Elks Lodge held its Annual Kids Christmas Party on Saturday, December 14th at the lodge.
The event was funded by the lodge’s Wednesday Night Bingo Program and local donations. The Beamon Home, Combined Community Services and the Salvation Army provided a list of 40 children in our community from ages one to ten.
A luncheon was served for the children and their families with Christmas music and a visit from Santa. Each child was given a winter coat, a toy and educational books from Kosciusko County Literacy Services. Also, the children were entertained with games and coloring activities.
One little girl’s wish for Christmas was for her Mom to get well. Another asked Santa for a Bible and a child from Riley Hospital for Children took great delight with Santa’s visit. Elks members and volunteers shopped for toys and coats, wrapped presents, decorated for the party, served lunch and cleaned up after the event.
Kohl’s, K-Mart, Lake City, and Explorer Van donated items. Julie and Chris Rankin, Patti and Steve Anderson, Amy and Tom Lowe, Lisa Mast, Roger and Rita Hughes, Linda Olinger, Jerry Nolen, Liam Nolin, Kathy Patterson, Michelle Elder, Sherri Krichbaum, Sabrina Slone and Bill Huffer helped make the event possible. Jane Nolin, Chairman of the delightful occasion, once again, made this wonderful annual event a heartwarming day the children.
