Eagles Roll Past LCA
ELKHART – The Elkhart Christian Academy boys basketball team continued to roll Saturday night.
The host Eagles rolled past Lakeland Christian Academy 97-21.
ECA, ranked No. 11 in last week’s Class 1-A poll, improved to 7-1 with its fifth straight win. The Eagles were coming off a home win over Class 1-A No. 9 Triton on Thursday night.
Senior standout Ryan Kupferschmid of ECA reached a milestone in the win. He scored 22 points to give him 1,009 for his outstanding high school career.
Cory Waycaster led the winners with 24 points. Drew Overmyer had 17 points and Tanner Watson 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.
LCA, which led 24-5 after the first quarter, hit 16-32 from 3-point range in the contest.
Connor Blum led the way for LCA with 10 points.
ECA plays at South Bend St. Joseph and LCA (0-11) hosts Argos on Tuesday night.
