Warsaw Swimmers Split With Concord
DUNLAP – The Warsaw boys swim team collected a win, while the girls team came up just short in Northern Lakes Conference action at Concord Saturday.
The Tigers posted a 105-81 NLC victory over the host Minutemen in boys’ action.
Host Concord won the girls’ league meet by a 98-87 final.
The outstanding trio of Jayden Parrett, Spencer Davidson and Zach Taylor led the way for coach Nate Long’s boys’ squad.
Parrett won both the 100 freestyle (49.26) and 100 backstroke (54.82) events for the Tigers. Davidson took top honors in both the 50 freestyle race in a winning time of 22.57 and the 100 breaststroke event in 1:00.43. Taylor won the 200 IM in a top effort of 2:06.25.
The trio of Parrett, Davidson and Taylor also swam with Matt Wildman to win the 200 medley relay race in 1:41.69. The threesome also teamed with Ethan Cook in winning the 400 freestyle relay event in 3:31.53.
Steven Reinholt won the diving competition for Warsaw with a top score of 168.75.
The Warsaw boys return to action Jan. 21 with a non-conference meet at Culver Academy.
Brenna Morgan led the way for the Warsaw ladies Saturday. She won the 50 freestyle in a top time of 24.76 and also captured first place in the 100 freestyle in a winning performance of 55.91.
Senior standout Ashley VanWormer won the 100 breaststroke race in 1:11.97 for the Tigers. Erin Sandberg captured first place in the 100 fly in a time of 1:07.60.
The Warsaw ladies return to Concord Thursday and Saturday for the NLC Meet.
