UPDATE: According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, two people are in serious condition following a head-on crash on SR 13 just south of Syracuse-Webster Road in North Webster.

The crash happened at approximately 1:50 p.m. when Lindsey M. Swinehart, 21, of North Webster, lost control of her 2008 Ford Edge and crossed the center line. Swinehart collided with a Mercedes Benz driven by Ann E. Strong, 74, of Indianapolis.

Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by the North Webster Fire Department.  Swinehart was transported to IU Goshen Health hospital with neck pain in serious condition.  Strong was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with neck pain in serious condition.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by members of the Syracuse E.M.S., North Webster E.M.S., North Webster Fire Department and the North Webster Police Department.

Samaritan Air was called to the scene but, due to weather conditions, was not able to fly.
