Trojans Handle Lancers
BOURBON – Tanner Shepherd led the way as Triton topped LaVille 67-54 Saturday night.
Shepherd had 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the host Triton bested the Lancers in Northern State Conference play.
Triton led 18-11 after the opening period of play and 31-21 at intermission en route to winning for the fifth time in its last six games.
The Trojans, who improve to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in league play, got contributions from a plethora of players in the win.
Dillon Meadway had 14 points and seven rebounds, while Joey Corder contributed nine points and 11 caroms for the winners. Skyler Reichert and Austin Sellers each had eight points and Masen Yeo seven for the Trojans.
Triton had an off shooting night from distance, but finished a fine 24-50 overall from the field in the victory.
Blake Berger netted 21 points to lead the Lancers, who drop to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in the NSC.
Triton won the junior varsity game by a 39-25 count. Landon Kauffman led the winners with 14 points.
Triton plays at NSC foe Bremen Thursday night. LaVille travels to Rochester Monday evening.
