Fouts Taking Talent To Kentucky
WARSAW – Warsaw standout student-athlete Seth Fouts made his college plans official this week, putting his signature on a Letter of Intent to attend the University of Kentucky where he will compete in shot put for the Wildcat Track & Field program.
Fouts put distance between himself and his opponents with his dominance at shot put this past year where he finished with a personal best toss of 57’8.5”. Last year’s efforts also earned him a sixth-place finish at the IHSAA State Championships in Bloomington.
A standout for both the Tigers’ football and Track & Field programs – Fouts was honorable mention All-Northern Lakes Conference in football as a junior and All-Conference for the Tigers’ football squad as a senior where he played defensive end, and he earned All-Area awards both years. Fouts has displayed tremendous performances in the shot put and discus rings where he was a shot put conference champion, sectional champion, and regional champion as a junior, and he enters his senior campaign targeting another 3’ and a school record in shot put. Fouts’ performance at last year’s state championship meet helped lead Warsaw to its best-ever finish at the IHSAA state finals where the Tigers took fifth place overall.
Fouts has also been solid in the classroom where the scholar athlete has earned an 8.8 grade-point-average (12-point scale, B+) while active year-round in athletics and community service programs for Tiger Athletics.
Fouts plans to major in physical fitness and nutrition at Kentucky.
