Frantz Named As Junior All-Star
INDIANAPOLIS – NorthWood High School girls basketball standout Jordyn Frantz has been selected as an Indiana Junior All-Star.
Frantz, a junior guard for the Panthers, was named to the North Six Junior All-Star team. Frantz helped coach Steve Neff’s squad win a Class 3-A sectional title this past season as the Panthers posted a 19-6 mark.
Also named by the IBCA all-state panel to the North Six group were Josie Fisher (Homestead), Darby Maggard (Fort Wayne Canterbury), Michal Miller (Michigan City), Tiara Murphy (South Bend Washington) and Nakeya Penny (Logansport).
The Core Six Junior All-Stars include Jenna Allen and Dominique McBryde of Class 4-A state champion Bedford North Lawrence. Also picked for the Core group were Lamina Cooper (Lawrence North), Victoria Gaines (Merrillville), Ali Patberg (Columbus North) and Tori Schickel (Evansville Mater Dei).
The South Six team features Alexa Bailey (Bedford North Lawrence), Kennedy Archer (Franklin Central), Olivia Crozier (Madison), Jordan Hawkins (Lawrence North), Stephanie Sherwood (Evansville Memorial) and Brittany Ward (Pike).
The Junior All-Stars will play a pair of exhibition game versus the Kentucky Junior All-Stars on June 6 at Scecina High School in Indianapolis and June 7 in Lexington. The team will play the Indiana Senior All-Star team in two exhibition games on June 9 and 11. The sites and times for those games are to be determined.
The members of the Core Six Junior All-Stars will play in all four exhibition games. The North and South All-Stars will each play in two of the contests.
The Indiana Senior All-Stars are scheduled to play Kentucky on June 13 in Lexington and June 14 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
