Plumlee Prospers For Pacers
Plumlee, who was the Pacers’ first-round draft pick in the recent NBA Draft, had nine points and six rebounds as Indiana lost to the Brooklyn Nets 90-77 in summer league action in Orlando. Plumlee, a 6-11 forward/center, played collegiately at Duke.
Plumlee, who was the 26th overall pick in the Draft in June, was honored as a first-team selection for the NBA Summer League. He was joined by teammate Lance Stephenson of the Pacers, Alec Burks of Utah, Andrew Nicholson of Orlando and Austin Daye of Detroit.
Plumlee, a Warsaw native, had a strong performance Thursday in an 87-81 loss to Utah. He tallied 15 points to go with six rebounds in that contest.
Plumlee, who averaged six points per game his senior season at Duke, finished the summer league circuit averaging 13 points and seven rebounds per game for the Pacers.
Indiana, which lost in the second round of the NBA playoffs to the Miami Heat this past season, finished 2-3 in summer league play. The Pacers lost their final three games in Orlando.
