Splatter Dash To Help Joe’s Kids
“At Joe’s Kids, special kids with special needs receive much needed physical, occupational and speech therapy from an amazing group of professionals who have an even more amazing dedication to serving our community’s children with special needs.
At Joe’s, children with a wide variety of genetic and developmental disorders, including Down Syndrome, stroke and cerebral palsy are treated and given a chance to reach their maximum potential,” says Blake Schritter, a junior at Warsaw Community High School and a volunteer at Joe’s Kids on Commerce Drive.
The therapists at Joe’s Kids treats around 60 children with special needs each week. Unfortunately, another 50 are on a waiting list.
Joe’s Kids would like to eliminate that waiting list. The Second Annual “Splatter Dash” 5K or 1 Mile Run on May 3 should take Joe’s Kids one step closer to that goal.
The Splatter Dash, to be held at the Winona Lake Town Park, promises to be as much fun as it is philanthropic. Racers are encouraged to come dressed in white shirts (shorts, socks, headbands, whatever article of clothing they might want to add a splash of color to). As racers run through the course, they will be hit with different colors of powdered paint.
Registration is going on now. Those who want to register before the race can do so by clicking here. It’s only $25 until the day before the race, at which point the price goes to $30.
On race day, registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The race starts at 10 a.m. For more information on the Splatter Dash visit www.joes-kids.org.
